While we get our new site ready for the Fall semester, we'd like to spotlight Creative Commons - http://www.creativecommons.org.
From their website:
"Creative Commons is devoted to expanding the range of creative work available for others to build upon and share."
"Thus, a single goal unites Creative Commons' current and future projects: to build a layer of reasonable, flexible copyright in the face of increasingly restrictive default rules."
To do this, Creative Commons has crafted a set of licensing templates that are free for the public to use. They are written in simple, clear language.
They have a wonderful page that explains them and the concepts behind licensing in general. It is at http://creativecommons.org/learn/licenses/.
They provide a search engine to find content protected by these often flexible licenses.
http://creativecommons.org/getcontent/.
They also have an interesting and informative page meant for the educational community.
