Elena Poniatowska

Elena Poniatowska is distinguished for creating the interview genre in Mexico, and for her writing of political analysis. Her best-known book is Massacre in Mexico, based on the 1968 student demonstrations in Mexico City; also her text Nothing, Nobody, based on the 1985 earthquake in Mexico City. She has also published novels, those in English translation include Lilus Kikus, Dear Diego, Tinisima, and The Skin of the Sky.
